The Ascent United Rep 2016/2017 Boys just etched their names in the history books by claiming the championship at the prestigious Del Sol Desert Classic soccer tournament in 2026! What an incredible achievement for this talented group of young athletes.
Held February 5-8, 2026, at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Phoenix, the Desert Classic—hosted by SC Del Sol—is one of the Southwest’s premier youth soccer events. It draws competitive teams from across the region and beyond, featuring high-level play in age groups from U7 to U19. Our boys, competing in their respective 2016/2017 division (typically U9 or U10 depending on the exact cutoff and bracket), faced tough opposition throughout the weekend but rose to the occasion with grit, skill, and unbreakable team spirit.
From the opening matches to the final showdown, the team demonstrated outstanding teamwork, sharp passing, tenacious defense, and clinical finishing. They powered through the group stage undefeated, showcased resilience in knockout rounds, and sealed the title in a thrilling championship game. Every player contributed—whether locking down the backline, controlling the midfield, or delivering decisive goals—proving why this squad is a force to be reckoned with.
