Ascent United Boys 2016/17 Crowned Yavapai Cup Champions!

The Ascent United Boys 2016/17 team added another trophy to the cabinet this past weekend, winning the Yavapai Cup Tournament in Prescott Valley with an outstanding display of skill, teamwork, and determination.
Held March 27–29, 2026, and hosted by Yavapai Soccer Club at venues including Mountain Valley Park, Viewpoint Park, and Pioneer Park, the tournament brought together competitive boys teams from across Arizona for three days of high-level youth soccer. The cooler mountain weather provided the perfect backdrop for fast-paced matches, and our boys rose to the occasion.
From the opening whistle, the Ascent United squad showcased the hard work they’ve put in during training and throughout the season. They advanced through the group stage and knockout rounds with strong performances, displaying excellent ball movement, defensive solidity, and clinical finishing. The team remained focused and composed under pressure, embodying the club’s core values of building confident players and growing leaders both on and off the field.
The championship run culminated in a hard-fought final that highlighted everything this group stands for — resilience, heart, and a never-give-up attitude. Every player contributed meaningfully, stepping up when it mattered most.
A huge congratulations to the entire roster for their dedication and passion for the game. This victory is a direct result of their commitment during practices, their willingness to learn, and their support for one another.
We also want to thank the coaching staff for their expert guidance, tactical preparation, and unwavering belief in the players. Their leadership helped the boys perform at their best when the lights were brightest.
Finally, a massive shoutout to all the families and supporters who made the trip to Prescott Valley, cheered loudly from the sidelines, and provided the energy that fuels this team. Your presence and encouragement make all the difference.
